Responsibilities

• Opens facility, checking work orders, evaluating grounds and considering safety guidelines and policies.
• Supervises/Manages the custodial activities of assigned facility according to appearance standards after use.
• Manages and performs maintenance activities of facility grounds (e.g., trims landscaping, mows grass, removes snow and ice, athletic field irrigation) and housekeeping activities (e.g., appearance of facility, graffiti).
• Communicates and coordinates with Facility Maintenance and other District departments for major repairs that cannot be completed by staff, and submits requisitions.
• Troubleshoots and performs minor repair and maintenance on building systems (electrical, plumbing, structural, pool), and on building furniture and fixtures.
• Monitors safety and security of building and grounds, conducts monthly fire drills, ensures facility meets fire code, coordinates with fire department for inspections.
• Leads, supervises, coordinates and trains facility staff, conducts performance evaluations, and makes personnel recommendations to area supervisor.
• Responds to facility emergencies on a 24 hour 7 days a week schedule.
• Schedules and delegates to assigned staff based on maintenance schedule and work priority.
