DEPARTMENT OVERVIEW
The Facilities Department at Sony Corporation of America (SCA) is responsible for all building operations as well as building related services, which includes Food Service, Fitness Center, Mailroom, Design , and Construction.
POSITION SUMMARY
The Facilities Specialist is responsible for the operation and maintenance of building mechanical equipment . The individual will maintain and troubleshoot all mechanical equipment at 25 Madison ( ie . supplemental air-conditioning units, commercial grade kitchen appliances, CATV, IPTV, Satellite telephones, low voltage cabling, MFD/IDF/wire management. ). The ideal candidate will also have cursory knowledge of building mechanical equipment (A/C, BMS, pumps, lighting controls).
This position will be on a Hybrid schedule with 4-5 days per week in the NYC office.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
Responds to daily requests for maintenance in areas related, but not limited to, kitchen equipment, television, satellite, and access points
Responsible for basic maintenance and repair of the facility, including interior, exterior, and vital systems (HVAC, plumbing, electrical).
Responds to emergency repair requests to ensure equipment is in working order
Leads coordination for third-party vendors to respond to mechanical needs and repair requests
Serves as a liaison and coordinator for the building property management team by responding to requests for property maintenance and repairs as required
Manages active requests for maintenance and responds to urgent matters by providing mechanical intervention or engaging with third-party vendors to provide specialized repairs
Routinely gains knowledge in rudimentary workings of mechanical equipment, applies gained knowledge in troubleshooting of equipment within the building
Prioritizes work sequencing and order of task completion considering current and future meeting room usage and determines equipment to remain; identifies or anticipates problems and takes corrective action
Provides customer service and communicates with facility users to ensure event needs are met; assesses and resolves customer complaints
Navigate and manage an Internal Work Order Management Ticketing System (IWMS) to ensure efficient maintenance of workspace for Sony employees, inclusive of space management, asset management and employee-wide service requests.
Gain expertise in the backend administration, settings, and functionality of the IWMS through training sessions and hands-on experience, including the development of a high-level understanding of the key project partners, implementation and integration of the software.
Regularly review, update, and maintain building CAD drawings to ensure accurate space planning and facility management, incorporating changes from ongoing in-building construction projects.
Routinely inspects facilities to ensure employee safety and proper mechanical functioning
Other duties and responsibilities as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS FOR POSITION
Your qualifications and experience should include:
High school diploma or GED equivalent required
Work experience in building operations experience is required
Experience with Building Management System required (Desigo and/or InSite preferred)
Knowledge of space planning, CAD design, and related software is a plus.
Strong communication skills with the ability to provide clear, timely , and effective updates across multiple channels (Microsoft Outlook, Teams) to internal facilities teams, building partners, and external vendors throughout the maintenance process.
Quick learner who is highly motivated and a proactive self-starter
Ability to work collaboratively and on a stand-alone basis required
Strong interpersonal and communication skills
Able to lift and carry items weighing up to 60 pounds
Must be authorized to work in the USA

The anticipated annual base salary for this position is $75,000 to $85,000. In addition to the annual base salary, this role has an annual bonus target of 7%. This range does not include any other compensation components or other benefits that an individual may be eligible for. The actual base salary offered depends on a variety of factors, which may include as applicable, the qualifications of the individual applicant for the position, years of relevant experience, specific and unique skills, level of education attained, certifications or other professional licenses held, and the location in which the applicant lives and/or from which they will be performing the job.
