DEPARTMENT OVERVIEW

The Facilities Department at Sony Corporation of America (SCA) manages building operations and related services, including Food Service, Fitness Center, Mailroom, Design, and Construction.

POSITION SUMMARY

The Facilities Specialist oversees the operation and maintenance of building mechanical equipment, including troubleshooting and maintaining systems at 25 Madison, such as supplemental air-conditioning units, commercial kitchen appliances, CATV, IPTV, Satellite phones, low voltage cabling, and wiring management. Basic knowledge of building mechanical systems like A/C, BMS, pumps, and lighting controls is preferred.

This role follows a hybrid schedule, with 4-5 days per week in the NYC office.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
  1. Respond to daily maintenance requests related to kitchen equipment, TV, satellite, and access points.
  2. Perform basic maintenance and repairs on interior, exterior, and vital systems such as HVAC, plumbing, and electrical.
  3. Address emergency repair requests promptly.
  4. Coordinate with third-party vendors for mechanical repairs.
  5. Serve as liaison with property management for maintenance and repairs.
  6. Manage maintenance requests and respond to urgent issues with mechanical intervention or vendor engagement.
  7. Develop rudimentary knowledge of mechanical equipment for troubleshooting.
  8. Prioritize work based on building usage and potential issues.
  9. Provide excellent customer service, addressing event needs and customer complaints.
  10. Manage work orders via the Internal Work Order Management Ticketing System (IWMS).
  11. Gain expertise in IWMS backend administration and integration.
  12. Maintain and update CAD drawings for space planning and ongoing construction changes.
  13. Inspect facilities regularly to ensure safety and mechanical functionality.
  14. Perform other duties as assigned.
  15. Uphold honesty, trustworthiness, and ethical conduct.
QUALIFICATIONS
  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Experience in building operations required.
  • Knowledge of Building Management Systems (Desigo and/or InSite preferred).
  • Familiarity with space planning and CAD software is a plus.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to provide timely updates.
  • Motivated, proactive, and quick learner.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
  • Ability to lift up to 60 pounds.
  • Authorized to work in the USA.

COMPENSATION

The estimated annual salary range is $75,000 to $85,000, with a target annual bonus of 7%. Actual salary depends on experience, skills, education, and location.
