Job summary

The University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign seeks a Civil Service Facility Operations Coordinator to oversee the operation, maintenance, and security of multiple Extension facilities, including the Doris Kelley Christopher Illinois Extension Center. You will manage space, coordinate remodeling, maintenance work orders, and budget for project scopes, ensuring ADA accessibility and energy efficiency.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Two years of combined college coursework, training, or experience in facility operations or related field.
• Knowledge of building operations, maintenance coordination, and safety practices.
• Proficiency with Windows, MS Excel, MS Word; basic AutoCAD skills desirable.

Responsibilities

• Manage facilities space and coordinate custodial, grounds, and maintenance activities.
• Plan remodeling projects and communicate scope to internal teams and contractors.
• Oversee inventory, equipment lifecycle, and records; maintain budgets for projects.
• Ensure ADA accessibility and coordinate energy efficiency initiatives.
• On-call support for emergencies and liaison with campus safety and responders.
