Job summary

LSU New Orleans is seeking a Quality Assurance Manager for Facilities Maintenance to oversee maintenance staff performing repairs and upkeep. You will ensure safety, quality, and appearance standards while leading preventive maintenance planning and hands-on support as needed.

The role requires strong knowledge of facility upkeep, supervisory experience, and a commitment to safety and continuous improvement, with collaboration across custodial, HVAC, electrical, and other teams to deliver

Qualifications

• Broad knowledge of general facility maintenance including carpentry, painting, plumbing, and light mechanical systems.
• Experience supervising or leading skilled trades or maintenance personnel.
• Strong understanding of quality control principles and facility upkeep standards.
• Excellent organizational, communication, and problem‑solving skills.
• Familiarity with maintenance work order systems and preventive maintenance planning.
• Commitment to safety and continuous improvement.

Responsibilities

• Quality Oversight and Standards Enforcement – monitor and evaluate maintenance work for safety, durability, and aesthetics.
• Staff Supervision and Development – assign, oversee, and mentor maintenance staff to ensure high-quality results.
• Technical Support and Overflow Task Management – provide hands-on assistance for complex repairs as needed.
• Preventive Maintenance Planning – develop and monitor maintenance schedules to extend service life.
• Work Order and Documentation Management – track requests and maintain repair/inspection records.
• Interdepartmental Coordination – work with custodial, HVAC, electrical, and vendors on joint tasks.
• Compliance and Safety Monitoring – ensure compliance with codes and PPE usage.
