Job summary

Austin Water is hiring a Property Manager to oversee a portfolio of properties, manage budgets, and supervise facilities staff. The role requires strong leadership, strategic planning, and ability to ensure safety and regulatory compliance across multiple sites in Austin.

The position emphasizes coordination with City departments, vendor management, and advancing maintenance programs while upholding city policies and quality standards.

Qualifications

• Graduation from an accredited high school or equivalent, plus seven (7) years of experience in a related field, including three (3) years of supervisory experience.
• One (1) additional year of education may substitute for one (1) year of the required experience, with a maximum substitution of three (3) years.
• No professional licenses or certifications are required.

Responsibilities

• Coordinates and supervises skilled craft positions (plumbing, electrical, HVAC) and related staff.
• Responds to occupant needs and ensures issues are resolved by staff.
• Ensures services comply with City of Austin policies and standards.
• Develops, controls, and monitors annual budgets for operating and capital expenses.
• Develops short- and long-range plans and coordinates with other divisions.
