Job summary

University of Utah is seeking a facilities maintenance professional to manage school of business buildings, systems, and landscaping. The role coordinates with university resources to maintain look, feel, and safety while ensuring all systems operate efficiently.

Responsibilities include monitoring building automation, responding to alarms, performing preventive maintenance, managing projects and budgets, and collaborating with custodial and District 5 staff to keep facilities in top condition.

Qualifications

• Eight years progressively responsible maintenance experience with at least two years in a leadership role.
• Journeyman certification in at least one supervised trade; knowledge of applicable codes and ordinances.

Responsibilities

• Take readings from equipment to ensure proper operation.
• Calibrate equipment readings to within acceptable parameters.
• Inspect building systems to verify proper operation and limits.
• Monitor building automation and respond to system alarms.
• Respond to fire alarms as part of the ERT team.
• Assist on the ERT team and coordinate with facilities staff.
• Submit and manage work orders; initiate facilities projects and upgrades.
• Maintain inventory, manage capital assets, and ensure safety.
