Job summary

New York University seeks a Director of Facilities Operations and Planning to lead the Division of Libraries' physical spaces, building operations, maintenance, and capital projects. You will partner with senior leadership, central campus groups, and external vendors to ensure spaces are safe, accessible, welcoming, and functional for students, faculty, and researchers.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent in facilities-related field.
• 7+ years progressive experience in space planning, construction project management, facilities management, or building operations.
• 10+ years progressive experience in facilities management, building operations, space planning, or construction management in relevant sectors.
• Excellent oral and written communication; proficient with Google Suite and office software.
• Experience supervising personnel; ability to manage multiple projects and administrative demands.

Responsibilities

• Provide strategic leadership for spaces, operations, maintenance, and capital projects.
• Lead development and implementation of the Division of Libraries' Comprehensive Space Plan.
• Oversee the facilities budget and vendor contracts/relationships.
• Coordinate emergency preparedness and building-level response planning.
• Report to Libraries' Senior Leadership and stakeholders.
