Job summary

UCP of Maine seeks an Assistant Director of Facilities to lead building maintenance and facility operations across its locations. You will supervise maintenance and environmental services staff, ensure code compliance, and advise leadership on long-term planning and improvements.

This on-site role requires a related-degree, supervisory experience, and strong collaboration to provide a safe, efficient environment for all facilities.

Qualifications

• Degree in related field of study.
• 2 years’ supervisory experience in facilities or 5 years’ supervisory experience in a related position.
• Valid State of Maine driver’s license and reliable transportation.
• Knowledge of state and federal codes related to maintenance functions.
• Ability to coordinate maintenance projects and supervise staff.

Responsibilities

• Directs maintenance operations (budgeting, safety programs, site repairs) to support UCP services.
• Supervises all maintenance and housekeeping staff.
• Conducts inspections of cleaning and maintenance work to ensure timeliness and quality.
• Ensures preventive maintenance for systems (water/boiler, sprinkler, generator, lighting).
• Maintains property, vehicles, and grounds including snow removal and lawn care.
• Maintains fire alarm and sprinkler systems with regular testing.
• Schedules safety training, drills, and evacuations as needed.
• Coordinates building repair projects.
• Leads Safety Committee with HR and addresses facility issues promptly.
• Manages emergency planning, documentation, and compliance.
