Job summary

United Community & Family Services, Inc. is seeking a Manager of Facilities to oversee all building functions and guarantee safety and operational efficiency across all facilities in Eastern CT.

The role includes planning maintenance, supervising Facilities Maintenance Workers, and coordinating with vendors. The position requires a 40-hour work week, on-call availability, and potential for additional hours during snow events.

Qualifications

• 3 years of experience working in facilities or construction.
• Knowledge of electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and carpentry.
• Experience in a facilities or construction leadership role.
• Valid driver’s license required.

Responsibilities

• Develops a comprehensive facilities plan that guides infrastructure toward operational excellence and long-term viability.
• Establishes the maintenance and capital budgets.
• Leads day-to-day facilities operations and supervises maintenance staff.
• Inspects buildings and recommends repairs or renovations.
• Schedules routine inspections and coordinates with outside vendors.
• Operates snow removal equipment and ensures safety during winter conditions.
