Job summary

UCI Health in Orange, CA is seeking a Facilities Engineering Manager to oversee HVAC, steam, plumbing, medical gas and electrical systems for the Medical Center. You will develop and implement programs to improve safety, reliability, energy efficiency and carbon footprint, while supporting the Director and leading a skilled team.

The role requires strong project management, healthcare facilities experience, and the ability to navigate complex regulations.

Qualifications

• Strong organization and project management skills.
• Experience in healthcare facilities engineering operations and management.
• Knowledge of hospital electrical, plumbing and HVAC systems.
• Familiarity with Joint Commission and regulatory requirements for hospitals.
• Minimum 5–7 years managerial experience.
• Financial management and budgeting experience.
• Ability to read and interpret complex regulations and policies.

Responsibilities

• Oversees mechanical systems: HVAC, steam, plumbing, medical gas and electrical.
• Develops and implements maintenance and redesign programs to improve safety, reliability and energy efficiency.
• Assists Director in overseeing plant operations for the Medical Center.
• Leads process improvements, builds teams and develops talent; meets budgets and standards.
• Represents the department in meetings and committees as appropriate.
