Job summary

University of California, Irvine Health seeks an experienced Facilities Engineering Manager to oversee all mechanical systems across the Medical Center, including HVAC, steam, plumbing, medical gas and electrical. You will develop and implement operations, maintenance and redesign programs to improve safety, reliability and energy efficiency while reducing the carbon footprint.

Reporting to the Director of Facilities and Safety Services, you will lead teams, manage budgets, ensure regulatory

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in mechanical engineering or equivalent.
• 5–7 years of managerial experience in a medium to large facility.
• Experience in hospital facilities and physical plant management.
• Knowledge of electrical, plumbing and HVAC operations.
• Familiarity with Joint Commission and hospital regulations.

Responsibilities

• Oversee mechanical systems (HVAC, steam, plumbing, medical gas, electrical) for the Medical Center.
• Develop and implement maintenance and redesign programs to improve safety, reliability and energy efficiency.
• Provide backup to the Director, participate in meetings and committees, and mentor staff.
