Job summary

UCI Health seeks an experienced facilities operations leader to oversee all mechanical systems, including HVAC, steam, plumbing, medical gas and electrical, across its Medical Center. You will design and implement programs to improve safety, reliability and energy efficiency while managing budgets.

Reporting to the Director of Facilities and Safety Services, you will mentor staff, build teams and drive continuous improvement in performance, quality and safety in a large hospital environment.

Qualifications

• 5–7 years of managerial experience in a medium to large facility.
• Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or equivalent.
• Experience with electrical, plumbing and HVAC in hospital facilities.
• Knowledge of Joint Commission and hospital regulatory requirements.
• Strong organization, planning and budgeting capabilities.
• Ability to interpret complex regulations and policies.

Responsibilities

• Oversee mechanical systems across the Medical Center.
• Develop programs to improve safety, reliability and energy efficiency.
• Assist the Director in overseeing plant operations and budgets.
• Provide backup to the Director and represent the department in meetings.
• Lead process improvements and manage change across teams.
