Job summary

LB&B Associates Inc. seeks an Assistant Facilities Manager to oversee O&M for federal buildings and courthouses in Norfolk, VA and nearby areas. The role requires a bachelor’s degree and 5 years’ experience managing building maintenance operations for large facilities.

You will supervise trades staff, develop preventive maintenance plans, manage vendors, and ensure CMMS usage meets contract requirements. Strong Microsoft Office and building automation knowledge are expected.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required.
• Minimum 5 years' recent experience in managing building mechanical maintenance operations.
• Experience supervising staff in facilities/O&M for large buildings.

Responsibilities

• Manage the operations and maintenance of all buildings under this contract.
• Oversee skilled trades, administrative and supporting staff for consistent service.
• Monitor, train, evaluate and guide facilities personnel.
• Oversee operation and maintenance of machinery, equipment and systems.
• Develop and implement preventive maintenance plans and propose predictive projects.
• Negotiate O&M contracts and manage vendor relationships; qualify new vendors.
• Purchase and manage maintenance supplies and repair parts.
• Inspect grounds, buildings and equipment; report repairs needed.
• Ensure proper use of CMMS for all buildings; provide updates to customer.
