Dauphin County Library System is seeking a Facilities Manager to oversee library buildings, grounds and equipment, coordinate preventive maintenance, and manage staff and volunteers.

The role prepares RFP specifications, reviews bids, negotiates with contractors, ensures OSHA compliance, and partners with IT and Finance to prioritize repairs and safety across all facilities. Strong customer service and communication skills are essential.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED; vocational degree preferred.
• Five years in facilities maintenance.
• Two years in facility management.
• Two years of experience with Microsoft Office Suite in Windows.
• Valid driver’s license (when operating a library vehicle).
• Ability to lift up to 100 lbs with assistance and up to 50 lbs unassisted; climb ladders.
• Excellent customer service and communication skills.

Responsabilités

• Oversees maintenance of library buildings, grounds, and equipment.
• Prepares, coordinates, and reviews requests for proposals (RFPs); makes recommendations.
• Negotiates with contractors and vendors; manages custodial staff and training.
• Coordinates preventive maintenance (HVAC, carpet cleaning, painting, snow removal).
• Manages fleet of library vehicles and coordinates repairs.
• Ensures facilities comply with OSHA and other safety regulations.
• Works with IT and Finance to prioritize repairs and maintenance.
• Participates in system-wide committees and staff meetings.
