Job summary

Mokena Community Public Library is seeking a facility maintenance role to assist with the upkeep of the building and surrounding grounds. The position supports safety, cleanliness, and orderly environments for staff and patrons, reporting to the Operations Manager and Executive Director.

Responsibilities include routine building maintenance, grounds work such as salting, shoveling, trimming, and stocking supplies, with collaboration on repairs and SDS binder management.

Qualifications

• Basic overview of skills to repair and maintain building systems.
• Positive support and service attitude.
• Proficiency in computer technology and office equipment is a positive.
• Ability to work independently and make sound decisions.

Responsibilities

• Performs a variety of building maintenance functions as needed.
• Maintenance of grounds including salting and shoveling sidewalks, driveways, and other areas not completed by landscaping company.
• Work with Facilities Manager on repairs and more complex building duties.
• Maintain grounds including trimming trees and bushes, watering plants, weeding and other grounds work not done by landscaping company.
• Maintain SDS Binder and stock supplies.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and orderly environment for staff and patrons.
• Assist other library staff and departments as needed.
