Job summary

The City of Seattle’s Office of Arts & Culture seeks a hands-on Facilities Manager to lead the facilities team across LHPAI, KSS, and other spaces. You’ll guide long-range planning, safety, and operations to keep venues welcoming and accessible for the community.

You will manage contracts, coordinate with partners, and drive improvements while upholding equity and a collaborative, accountable culture within a unionized environment.

Qualifications

• Equity-centered facilities leadership and accountability.
• Experience with contracting, permitting, construction, and purchasing.
• Contract negotiation and project management in building operations.
• Knowledge of OSHA/WISHA and ADA facility requirements.
• Ability to work in a unionized environment and resolve workplace issues.
• Strong collaborative problem-solving and stakeholder engagement.
• Ability to build relationships with diverse community partners.

Responsibilities

• Lead staff performing facilities and maintenance work, set schedules, coach, and ensure coverage.
• Coordinate with city partners, owners, tenants and community partners on issues.
• Maintain evacuation plans, safety training, and emergency planning participation.
• Develop procedures for building use, rentals, notifications and data tracking (Momentus).
• Oversee facilities projects, contract management, and negotiations with leadership and unions.
