Job summary

Codman Academy Charter Public School is seeking a Facilities Manager to lead maintenance, procurement, regulation, budgeting, and overall facilities operations. You will be the main point of contact for all facility-related issues.

The role requires 3–5 years in facilities maintenance (K‑12 preferred), strong procurement and negotiation skills, and excellent communication. Work hours are 7:00am–4:00pm, Monday–Friday, in Boston, MA.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree preferred in facility management, business information management, or engineering.
• 3–5 years of facilities maintenance experience, ideally in K-12 settings.
• Strong procurement, budgeting, and negotiation abilities.
• Excellent verbal and written communication and leadership skills.

Responsibilities

• Manage building repairs and grounds maintenance, including carpentry, electrical, plumbing, and related tasks.
• Contract maintenance and repair services; develop scopes, bids, approvals, and vendor coordination.
• Schedule inspections for fire safety, HVAC, elevators, pest control, and cleaning.
• Operate work order and inventory systems; oversee safety inspections and asset tracking.
• Control parking, waste disposal, and building security; ensure compliance and documentation.
• Collaborate to develop and maintain budgets for all facility plans.
• Implement emergency response protocols and ensure regulatory permits/certifications.
• Develop pools of licensed contractors to support operations and lead major projects.
• Document operation of building systems and maintain accurate records.
