Montgomery College is seeking a full-time Operations and Maintenance Lead at the Takoma Park/Silver Spring Campus. The role runs 5 days/40 hours weekly, with a 6:30am–3:00pm schedule on weekdays. It requires a non-bargaining, non-exempt stance and a valid HVAC/related certification background.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED or vocational training in the building heating and cooling trade or equivalent.
• 5 years’ experience in facilities maintenance with 1 year in a team lead or foreman role.
• EPA 608 Universal Certification.
• HVAC Journeyman License OR Maryland Stationary Engineer 3rd grade license.
• Ability to troubleshoot and repair complex HVAC/building automation systems.
• Eligible to work in the United States without visa sponsorship.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and assign work, inspect, and maintain records.
• Guide staff on mechanical, building automation control systems, and HVAC services.
• Review work to ensure standards are met.
• Coordinate in-house training needs.
• Perform routine maintenance on HVAC systems and controls.
• Calibrate Direct Digital Controls and test system points.
• Maintain equipment and safe mechanical rooms.
• Respond to customer concerns and resolve issues.
• Coordinate contract services and monitor contractors.
• Identify issues and develop resolution strategies.
• Prepare material lists and specifications.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
