Job summary

Montgomery College in Takoma Park/Silver Spring Campus is seeking a full-time Operations and Maintenance Lead. The role requires five days and 40 hours per week, with hours 6:30am–3:00pm, Monday through Friday.

It is non-bargaining, non-exempt, grade 27, and involves supervising HVAC and building automation staff. Responsibilities include training staff, maintaining equipment, calibrating controls, responding to issues, and coordinating with contractors.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED or vocational HVAC training.
• 5 years in facilities maintenance with 1 year in a team lead role.
• EPA Section 608 Universal Certification (EPA).
• HVAC Journeyman License or Maryland Stationary Engineer 3rd grade license.
• Ability to troubleshoot and repair complex mechanical/building automation systems.

Responsibilities

• Provide guidance and instruction to staff in mechanical, building automation, and HVAC services.
• Monitor and review work to ensure standards; coordinate in-house training.
• Perform routine maintenance on mechanical equipment, HVAC systems, and controls.
• Ensure Direct Digital Controls are calibrated and operate correctly.
• Respond to customer concerns and supervise contractors.
