Montgomery College is seeking a full-time Operations and Maintenance Lead for its Rockville and Takoma Park/Silver Spring campuses. The role oversees HVAC mechanical systems, directs staff, and ensures safety and compliance during 40 hours per week (5 days).

The position requires a high school diploma or GED with HVAC training, EPA 608 certification, and a Maryland HVAC license or equivalent. Strong leadership and problem-solving skills are essential for success.

Qualifikationen

• High school diploma or GED or completion of a vocational program in HVAC or equivalent training.
• 5 years’ experience in facilities maintenance including 1-year in a team lead or foreman role.
• EPA Section 608 Universal Certification.
• HVAC Journeyman License or Maryland Stationary Engineer 3rd grade license.
• Ability to troubleshoot and repair complex HVAC and building automation systems.
• Ability to read drawings, specs, and work orders; prepare material lists.
• Eligible applicants must be authorized to work in the United States without employer sponsorship.

Aufgaben

• Provide guidance and instruction to assigned staff engaged in mechanical, building automation, and HVAC services.
• Monitor and review work; identify training needs and conduct in-house training.
• Perform routine maintenance and repair of mechanical equipment, controls, and subsystems.
• Ensure Direct Digital Controls systems are calibrated and operate as designed.
• Perform operational tests of new and existing system points and controls.
• Ensure equipment is maintained and mechanical rooms are safely maintained.
• Respond to customer concerns and coordinate contract services and monitor contractors.
• Identify issues and develop strategies to resolve.
• Identify materials and equipment needed and quantities.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
