Job summary

University of Texas at Austin is seeking an Assistant Manager, Building Services to support daily building operations in the George Í. Sanchez Building affiliated with the College of Education.

You will ensure life safety, security measures, and coordinate maintenance and repairs in collaboration with UT departments. The role requires overseeing EPSS, fire extinguishers, keys, access lists, and incident response while reporting to the Construction and Facilities Manager.

Qualifications

• Associate's Degree and at least 6 years of facilities maintenance work with at least 2 years in supervision.
• Relevant education and experience may be substituted as appropriate.
• Demonstrated ability to follow safety rules and communicate effectively.

Responsibilities

• Attend facility manager meetings and monitor department requests.
• Perform daily facilities walkthroughs and report nonstandard conditions.
• Inspect SZB classrooms and conference rooms for cleanliness and operation.
• Schedule regular building maintenance and janitorial services.
• Coordinate equipment and furniture moves and space planning.
• Ensure laboratories follow Environmental Health and Safety policies.
