Job summary

QTS Data Centers is seeking an Operations Service Center Facilities Support Engineer I. You will manage major incidents, monitor EMPS/BMS dashboards, and provide remote troubleshooting while ensuring change control and data integrity across facilities operations.

The role requires on-call shift work in a 24/7 environment, with responsibilities spanning incident response, escalation, and detailed documentation. AAS/BS in engineering and data-center experience are preferred.

Qualifications

• Requires AAS or BS in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering or related field.
• 2+ years in a data center or critical environment.
• 1+ years using CMMS, ticketing, and monitoring platforms (e.g., ScienceLogic, ServiceNow).
• 1+ years with BMS/EPMS monitoring systems; familiarity with CMDB.

Responsibilities

• Lead Major Incident bridges and produce incident review reports.
• Answer phones and relay facility requests.
• Troubleshoot facility issues and monitor alarms.
• React to alarms and escalate per OSC policy.
• Correlate changes causing alarms and implement fixes.
• Provide incident resolution or escalation as required by SLAs.
• Document detailed notes and escalate where needed.
• Maintain knowledge of QTS products and tools (ServiceNow, Nuvolo).
• Identify process-improvement opportunities and communicate impact.
• Notify customers appropriately based on impact.
• Track tickets to closure and follow up as needed.
• Maintain flexibility to work varying shifts, including weekends and holidays.
