Job summary

Empire State University in Saratoga Springs is seeking a full-time Facility Operations Assistant 1 to perform routine custodial and maintenance tasks across buildings, grounds, and related equipment.

The role includes cleaning offices, classrooms and restrooms, sweeping and mopping floors, moving furniture, operating equipment, and assisting with exterior groundskeeping and light maintenance. Hours are Monday–Friday, 11:00am–7:00pm; valid NYS driver’s license required.

Qualifications

• Applicants must be physically able to perform the tasks and understand written or oral instructions.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine custodial cleaning of offices, classrooms, restrooms, hallways and common areas.
• Sweep, mop, vacuum and wash floors and carpets.
• Clean and disinfect restrooms and other high-touch surfaces.
• Collect and dispose of trash and recyclables.
• Set up, move and rearrange furniture, equipment and materials as needed.
• Lock and unlock buildings as directed.
• Operate cleaning and maintenance equipment.
• Perform seasonal snow removal.
• Assist with general exterior and groundskeeping tasks.
• Conduct light maintenance tasks.
