Seagate Technology in Bloomington, MN is seeking a Facilities Mechanical Engineer I to support operation, maintenance, and improvement of facility mechanical systems including HVAC, cooling water, and utility services. This entry-level role works under senior engineers to aid capital projects, reliability efforts, and daily facility operations.

The ideal candidate is a recent ME graduate or early-career engineer with a solid technical foundation, willingness to learn, and interest in supporting

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or equivalent.
• Basic understanding of HVAC and fluid systems.
• Familiarity with reading engineering drawings and specs.
• Strong analytical and communication skills.
• Proactive, collaborative, and eager to learn.

Responsibilities

• Assist design, analysis and improvement of facility mechanical systems (AHUs, chilled water, cooling towers, heating, ventilation).
• Support evaluation of facility water systems (domestic, process, cooling water) and pumps/distribution networks.
• Prepare calculations, specifications, reports and construction docs.
• Support reviews to ensure compliance with codes and standards.
• Assist with capital projects from planning to commissioning.
• Develop project scopes, schedules, budgets, and cost estimates.
• Coordinate with contractors and internal stakeholders; review drawings and submittals.
• Support startup, commissioning and system troubleshooting.
