Job summary

Yale New Haven Health is seeking a Mechanical Systems Technician to assist the HVAC and mechanic teams in maintaining critical facility infrastructure. The role supports safe, reliable operations and responds to service calls and alarms as needed.

Under the Department Manager, you will follow schedules, document work in CMMS, and collaborate with contractors and departments to ensure smooth facility operations and a high level of service.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• Trade school or formal on-the-job training preferred.
• 3–6 months of hands-on HVAC/refrigeration, plumbing, or mechanical experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist the HVAC or Mechanic Leadsperson as directed by the Department Manager.
• Follow assigned daily work schedules and priorities; document changes as required.
• Assist other Plant Engineering shops as directed.
• Maintain professional appearance and proper PPE; report safety concerns promptly.
• Conduct routine housekeeping and ensure work areas are clean and safe.
