Job summary

The Westchester Medical Center Health Network is seeking a Maintenance Mechanic to perform maintenance tasks across HVAC, plumbing, carpentry, and hospital equipment systems. The role includes preventive maintenance, emergency on-call support, and safety compliance within a healthcare facility.

Ideal candidates have healthcare maintenance experience, EPA refrigeration certification, and the ability to handle heavy lifting.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years healthcare experience preferred in maintenance/engineering.
• HVAC systems and mechanical repairs experience required.
• EPA Universal Refrigeration Certification.
• Class C; D.E.C. Underground Storage Tank certification preferred.
• Must be able to exert 50–100 lbs intermittently and 10–20 lbs constantly.

Responsibilities

• Performs preventive maintenance tasks for HVAC systems in the hospital.
• Completes maintenance service requests, inspections, and adjustments.
• Monitors and maintains building systems and equipment.
• Coordinates special projects and provides 24-hour emergency maintenance as scheduled.
• Assists in monitoring outside contractors’ work and safety procedures.
• Repairs and maintains plant machinery such as mixers, conveyors, and pumps.
• Operates welding and metalworking equipment and fabricates/modifies equipment as needed.
