Job summary

The Sisters of Mercy of the Americas in Cincinnati, OH is seeking a Facilities Manager to oversee campus buildings, facilities, and residences. The role manages maintenance staff, coordinates preventative maintenance, and coordinates with vendors while ensuring safety and regulatory compliance.

The ideal candidate has a bachelor’s degree in a related field and at least five years of relevant experience in facilities management, with strong reading of blueprints and knowledge of Life Safety and

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a related field with five years of relevant experience or equivalent combined education/experience/certifications.
• Experience in facilities management, building and equipment repair, construction, engineering, property management, or maintenance.
• Knowledge of building codes, Life Safety, OSHA requirements, HVAC/boiler, electrical, plumbing, and mechanical systems.

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily maintenance and building operations for campus and community properties.
• Direct maintenance staff: schedules, assignments, training, overtime, coverage.
• Inspect systems and prioritize repairs and maintenance needs.
• Ensure compliance with building codes, Life Safety, OSHA and regulatory requirements.
• Coordinate inspections and liaise with state/local officials.
• Manage contractors and vendors including procurement of services and supplies.
• Oversee department budget, invoices and payments.
• Coordinate maintenance for vehicles and equipment.
• Recommend facility improvements and capital projects.
• Collaborate with housekeeping and dietary services.
• Perform maintenance duties and respond to emergencies.
• Promote a safe, clean, and well-maintained environment.
