  • Experience in facilities management, building and equipment repair, construction, engineering, property management, or maintenance.
  • Knowledge of building codes, Life Safety, OSHA requirements, HVAC/boiler, electrical, plumbing, and mechanical systems.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee daily maintenance and building operations for campus and community properties.
  • Direct maintenance staff: schedules, assignments, training, overtime, coverage.
  • Inspect systems and prioritize repairs and maintenance needs.
  • Ensure compliance with building codes, Life Safety, OSHA and regulatory requirements.
  • Coordinate inspections and liaise with state/local officials.
  • Manage contractors and vendors including procurement of services and supplies.
  • Oversee department budget, invoices and payments.
  • Coordinate maintenance for vehicles and equipment.
  • Recommend facility improvements and capital projects.
  • Collaborate with housekeeping and dietary services.
  • Perform maintenance duties and respond to emergencies.
  • Promote a safe, clean, and well-maintained environment.

Salary Range: $76,000–$102,000 annually

Position Summary

The Facilities Manager is responsible for the oversight and management of the Sisters of Mercy campus buildings, facilities, equipment, and community-owned residences in the Cincinnati area. This position manages maintenance and support staff, coordinates preventative maintenance and repairs, oversees the work order system and department budget, and serves as the primary contact for facility-related contractors and vendors.

The Facilities Manager also helps ensure buildings and systems remain safe, compliant, well-maintained, and prepared to meet the needs of the Sisters of Mercy community.

Key Responsibilities

Oversee daily maintenance, repairs, preventative maintenance, and building operations for campus and community-owned properties.

Manage and direct maintenance staff, including schedules, assignments, training, overtime, and coverage.

Inspect buildings and utility systems and identify and prioritize needed repairs, improvements, and maintenance.

Ensure compliance with applicable building, Life Safety, OSHA, and other regulatory requirements.

Coordinate inspections and serve as a liaison with state and local officials.

Manage contractors and vendors, including procurement of services, repairs, and supplies.

Oversee the department budget, invoices, and payments.

Coordinate maintenance for vehicles, equipment, and related systems.

Recommend facility improvement and capital projects.

Work collaboratively with other departments, including housekeeping and dietary services.

Perform maintenance duties as needed and respond appropriately to emergency situations.

Promote a safe, clean, and well-maintained environment for Sisters, employees, visitors, and others.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in a related field with five years of relevant experience required. Equivalent combinations of education, experience, and industry-recognized certifications may be considered.

Experience in facilities management, building and equipment repair, construction, engineering, property management, or maintenance.

Strong knowledge of building codes, Life Safety, OSHA requirements, and HVAC/boiler, electrical, plumbing, and mechanical systems.

Ability to read blueprints, schematics, and wiring diagrams.

Strong organizational and communication skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities independently.

Ability to plan and coordinate maintenance schedules and adapt to changing systems, regulations, and priorities.

Knowledge of safety procedures related to mechanical tools and hazardous materials and chemicals.

Clean, valid driver’s license required.
