Job summary

JLL is seeking a seasoned Facilities Manager in the Kansas City area to oversee site operations, staff, and service quality in accordance with JLL standards. You will manage electrical, mechanical, structural, and life-safety systems while coordinating with client leadership and vendors.

Responsibilities include developing startup plans for projects, ensuring regulatory and federal/state compliance, maintaining budgets, conducting site inspections, and driving continuous improvements in quality

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Facilities Management, Engineering, Business Administration, or related field.
  • Minimum 5+ years of third-party commercial IFM experience with leadership responsibility.
  • Experience managing cleaning/custodial, landscaping, waste, and pest control programs.
  • Knowledge of mechanical, electrical, plumbing systems and BAS.
  • Authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship.

Job description

  • Manage and operate properties and staff according to JLL standards and procedures
  • Develop, implement, manage, and maintain site services, performance, processes, and quality standards
  • Lead efficient operations and maintenance of facility electrical, mechanical, structural, and life-safety systems
  • Analyze trends and data to anticipate and proactively address client‑environment issues
  • Interface with client senior management, vendors, and organizational stakeholders
  • Conduct planned site inspections to assure service quality
  • Develop and implement startup plans and schedules for assigned projects
  • Identify internal disciplines, vendors, and subcontractors and ensure PTPs, job plans, and materials support successful system startups
  • Coordinate OAT/FAT certificates, warranties, and manufacturer paperwork
  • Monitor work requests and manage vendor quality, service, costs, and contract compliance
  • Maintain positive client relationships, resolve conflicts, analyze solutions, and address quality issues and customer complaints
  • Manage engineering compliance, applicable codes, specifications, standards, and federal/state regulations
  • Prepare detailed operational budgets and regular and ad-hoc reports
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Facilities Management, Engineering, Business Administration, or related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Minimum 5+ years of third-party commercial integrated facilities management (IFM) experience with demonstrated leadership responsibility
  • Experience managing cleaning/custodial, landscaping, solid waste & recycling, and pest control programs/applications
  • Knowledge of Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing, with fair knowledge of roofing systems and BAS systems
  • Ability to multi-task and effectively organize responsibilities to achieve goals and objectives
  • Self-motivated and able to work independently
  • Financial acumen to manage budgets for projects and operations
  • Must be authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship
  • Preferred: Certified Facility Manager (CFM), Facility Management Professional (FMP), or similar professional certification
  • Preferred: Demonstrated ability to lead and mentor junior team members and contribute to talent development
  • Onsite Monday-Friday, 8-5, with on-call rotation expectation
  • 30-50% travel throughout the greater Kansas City area to multiple sites
