Job summary

The Salvation Army is seeking a reliable Janitor/Facilities Assistant in Wichita, KS, to maintain appearance, safety, and security of buildings and grounds. Responsibilities include cleaning floors, restrooms, and common areas; minor repairs; and outdoor maintenance such as lawn care and snow removal.

A valid driver’s license is required, and CPR/First Aid are preferred. Role requires physical stamina, ability to lift up to 80 pounds, and willingness to work evenings or weekends as needed.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Minimum two years’ experience in maintenance or construction field.
• Valid driver’s license from state of residence; CPR and First Aid preferred.

Responsibilities

• Sweep, mop, scrub, vacuum and maintain floors and carpets.
• Clean restrooms, hallways, stairs and office spaces.
• Perform minor maintenance using power tools (painting, plumbing, carpentry, electrical).
• Inspect for major repairs and report safety or security issues.
• Perform outside maintenance: snow removal, lawn care, pruning and planting.
• Operate forklift to assist loading/unloading; drive as required.
• Set up furniture for meetings and assist with special projects.
