Job summary

The Salvation Army USA Central Territory is seeking a Custodian to perform routine cleaning and maintenance to support staff and clients in a respectful, safe environment.

Responsibilities include cleaning surfaces, vacuuming, restroom and kitchen sanitation, trash removal, setup for programs, and reporting repairs. Qualifications include a high school diploma or GED and janitorial experience preferred, plus a valid driver's license with MVR check.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED preferred or equivalent combination of training/experience.
• Janitorial experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Clean and dust all surfaces including windows, doors, desks, shelves, tables, chairs and cabinets.
• Vacuum and shampoo carpets for cleanliness.
• Sanitize restrooms and kitchen areas; clean floors and fixtures.
• Spot-clean walls, light switches and doors as needed.
• Maintain outdoor areas and organize cleaning supplies.
• Assist with program space setup (tables, chairs, etc.).
• Monitor and report maintenance repairs.
• Assist with building repairs such as painting or minor fixes.
• Clean grease traps monthly and report findings to supervisors.
• Drive donations to thrift store when needed.
