Job summary

The State of Indiana, through INDOT, is seeking a Facilities Maintenance Technician for the Fort Wayne District. The role covers buildings and grounds upkeep, equipment operation, and inspections to support highway infrastructure.

Qualified applicants should hold a High School Diploma or equivalent, possess a CDL within 90 days if not already, and pass a drug test. Expect outdoor work in varied weather with lifting requirements.

Qualifications

• Must possess a valid CDL (Class A or B) or obtain one within the first 90 days of employment.
• Must pass a drug test as a condition of employment.
• General knowledge of highway guidelines, laws and practices for construction inspection, maintenance and repair.
• Able to read, interpret and follow technical documents.

Responsibilities

• Maintain buildings and grounds across the Fort Wayne District.
• Operate and repair highway maintenance equipment; perform winter operations including snow removal.
• Assist in inspections, documentation, and asset upkeep as assigned by supervision.
• Work outdoors in various weather conditions and lift up to 50 pounds.
