Qualifications

• Be willing to travel with reasonable accommodation.
• Must possess a valid CDL or obtain one within 90 days of employment.
• Specialized knowledge of highway maintenance and repair of bridges, roads, and equipment.
• Considerable knowledge/experience in maintenance development and transportation operations.
• Working knowledge of OSHA safety precautions/regulations.
• Supervisory experience with multiple employees (min 1 year).
• Must pass a drug test as a condition of employment.
• Ability to schedule hours and coordinate winter operations (trucks/materials).
• Ability to delegate work, set direction, and coach employees.

Responsibilities

• Comply with INDOT safety policies and procedures.
• Assign work to units ensuring materials/equipment are available.
• Ensure effective use of personnel, time, and equipment for each task.
• Supervise a unit and explain programs affecting the work.
• Oversee operations to meet work orders on schedule with minimal interruptions.
• Support winter operations including snow/ice removal and brine equipment maintenance.
• Assist with implementation/improvement of operational programs and planning.
• Recruit, onboard, and train staff; provide development opportunities.
• Set expectations, monitor progress, and provide constructive feedback.
