Position Summary:

The Facilities Mechanical Technician II maintains general building and equipment in a modern industrial setting. This hands-on role requires 2-5 years of experience and the ability to work independently, supporting manufacturing, production, and internal personnel.

Job Duties and Responsibilities:

• Perform physical inspections of the facility and grounds.
• Assist in repairs of manufacturing equipment, perform inspections, and ensure quality of work.
• Interpret schematic diagrams for repairs.
• Assess and apply welding techniques for ferrous and non-ferrous metals.
• Handle miscellaneous tasks like drywall repair, painting, carpentry, assembly/disassembly, inventory, and system management to ensure production readiness.
• Prioritize work orders, handle urgent requests.
• Conduct preventive maintenance and report findings.
• Coordinate with external contractors for specialized repairs.
• Travel between SIG locations as scheduled.
• Maintain safety practices and report concerns.
• Assist others proactively, demonstrate professionalism, and participate in problem-solving and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Follow safety and ISO procedures, attend on-site regularly, and work overtime or alternate shifts as needed.

Education/Experience & Skills:

• High school diploma or equivalent, 2-5 years of trade or mechanical experience.
• Valid driver’s license.
• Knowledge of electrical, plumbing, HVAC systems.
• Basic understanding of programmable logic controllers.
• Ability to read drawings/blueprints.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Building Controls Systems, CMMS.
• Ability to operate industrial equipment.
• Effective communication skills.

Working Conditions:

• Repetitive tasks, primarily standing.
• Shifts of 8, 10, or 12 hours.
• Exposure to manufacturing environment with physical activity including lifting up to 40 pounds.
• Repetitive motions, use of PPE, and adherence to safety training.
