Job summary

Advocate Health is seeking a facility maintenance technician to support hospital operations in Winston-Salem. The role performs preventive maintenance, troubleshooting and repair of mechanical, electrical and control systems, and uses CMMS to document work orders.

Must have a high school diploma or GED, 2–4 years of maintenance experience, and a valid driver's license. Full-time, 40 hours/week, benefits eligible, and travel within facilities may be required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• 2–4 years of equipment or facility maintenance experience preferred.
• Basic computer skills (CMMS, MS Office).

Responsibilities

• Performs facility and equipment maintenance in accordance with codes and standards.
• Documents work using CMMS and records maintenance actions.
• Maintains, troubleshoots and repairs mechanical equipment (motors, pumps, conveyors, doors, fans, boilers, etc.).
• Maintains patient care equipment (beds, wheelchairs, carts, tables, etc.).
• Maintains mechanical/electrical systems (HVAC, refrigeration, piping, electrical, plumbing, water systems).
• Performs general maintenance tasks in grounds, carpentry, painting, and snow removal.
• Responds to emergencies (leaks, floods, power outages, etc.) and follows emergency plans.
• Responds to building occupant requests promptly and professionally.
• Performs zone maintenance rounding and keeps requesters updated.
• Conducts preventive maintenance and safety checks on equipment.
• Inspects and repairs fire doors, hardware, and smoke partitions.
• Reads blueprints and manuals to complete assigned tasks.
