Job summary

Waco ISD is seeking a General Maintenance Worker II to perform general maintenance and repair of building structures and systems district-wide. This role supports the Foreman - Building Maintenance and may oversee the Apprentice Program as after-hours crew leader.

Requires 3 years of general maintenance experience, a high school diploma or GED, and the ability to operate hand and power tools. Evening and weekend work may be required in this role.

Qualifications

• Requires high school diploma or GED; Associate degree preferred.
• Trade certifications in HVAC, Electrical, Building Construction, Plumbing preferred.
• Knowledge of computers recommended; ability to read & follow instructions.

Responsibilities

• Assist skilled workers with repair and maintenance of district facilities.
• Inspect building interior/exterior, playground equipment, and grounds; perform minor repairs.
• Detect and report needed repairs on structures, lockers, furniture, and flooring.
• Assist with roof repairs and preventive maintenance tasks.
• Move, install, assemble, and repair school furniture and playground equipment.
• Receive and complete work orders as directed by maintenance foreman.
• Assist with mowing and detailing of district grounds.
