Job summary

Maintenance Department in Wimberley, Texas is seeking a general maintenance technician for repair and preventive maintenance of building structures and systems across the district.

Must hold a valid Texas driver’s license and have at least one year of maintenance experience. Responsibilities include assisting skilled workers, inspecting facilities, and performing safety-compliant repairs using hand and power tools.

Qualifications

• Valid Texas driver’s license required.
• One year experience in general building maintenance.
• Ability to follow verbal and written instructions.
• Knowledge of basic construction and routine maintenance procedures.
• Ability to communicate effectively (verbally).
• Ability to operate hand and power tools.
• Ability to work independently and be self-motivated.
• Ability to operate a multi-use tractor with front loader, shredder, etc.
• Ability to utilize a computer for timekeeping, emails and work order system.

Responsibilities

• Assist skilled workers with repair and maintenance of district facilities, including woodwork, electrical, plumbing, and glass.
• Inspect building interior/exterior, playground equipment, and grounds; perform minor repairs.
• Report major repairs needed on structures and systems.
• Complete repairs as requested on work orders or by maintenance foreman.
• Assist with mowing and detailing of district grounds.
• Relocate furnishings as needed; move/install school furniture and playground equipment.
• Hang pictures, mirrors, boards, and other items as required.
• Install doors/windows and hardware; ceiling and flooring materials.
