Job summary

General Maintenance Worker at Lubbock-Cooper ISD performs maintenance and repair of district facilities, including mechanical, electrical, and sanitary systems. Responsible for grounds upkeep and assisting with various repairs under supervision.

Position requires a clear Texas driver’s license, ability to follow instructions, and capability to operate hand and power tools. The role involves outdoor and indoor work, safety procedures, and irregular hours as needed.

Qualifications

Knowledge of basic construction and routine maintenance.

Responsibilities

Assist skilled workers with repair and maintenance of district facilities, including repairing woodwork, electrical switches, fixtures, and motors.
Inspect building exterior and interior, playground equipment, and grounds; perform maintenance and minor repairs.
Detect and report needed major repairs on building structures and their systems.
Complete repairs as directed on work orders or by maintenance foreman.
Assist with mowing and detailing of district grounds.
Move, install, assemble, and repair district furniture and playground equipment.
