Job summary

Argus Community, Inc. is seeking a Maintenance (Maintenance Worker) Level I to perform custodial and minor maintenance tasks in Bronx, NY. The role supports a clean, orderly, and safe environment for residents and staff across multiple facilities.

Under general supervision, duties include floor care, basic repairs, room setups, and fire/safety checks. Candidates should be able to lift heavy items, read work orders, and work well with a team in a fast-paced setting.

Qualifications

• Must be able to perform heavy manual work and lift up to 50 pounds.
• Able to read and follow written work orders and directions.
• Good communication and ability to work with diverse staff and residents.

Responsibilities

• Perform full custodial duties to maintain a clean, safe environment.
• Maintain floors: vacuum, mop, scrub, wax as needed.
• Repair doors, windows and fixtures; assist with room setups.
• Inspect building equipment and report maintenance needs; respond to emergencies.
• Assist with on-call duties and after-hours building security.
