Job summary

The City of Greer is accepting applications for a Facilities Maintenance Worker I in the Facilities Maintenance Department. The role involves general building maintenance, electrical, plumbing, mechanical, construction repairs, and routine HVAC monitoring.

You will process work orders in Cartegraph and coordinate with contractors as needed. Minimum requirements include a high school diploma or GED, at least one year of labor experience, and a valid SC driver’s license.

Qualifications

• Requires a high school or GED equivalent.
• At least 1 year of labor experience.
• OSHA10 or higher certification or ability to obtain within 6 months.
• Working knowledge of electrical, plumbing, mechanical, and construction; or equivalent experience.

Responsibilities

• Performs general building maintenance including electrical, plumbing, mechanical, construction and equipment repairs.
• Paints, plasters, and performs other repairs to walls, doors, etc.; monitors and services A/C as needed.
• Completes work orders in Cartegraph and seeks assistance for complex tasks.
• Assists in managing third party contractor support as needed.
• Drives and operates department vehicles with a valid driver’s license; reviews maintenance records and reports.
