Job summary

The City of Greer is seeking a Facilities Maintenance Worker I to perform general building maintenance and repairs across electrical, plumbing, mechanical, and construction trades. This role supports the Facilities Maintenance Department and collaborates with the supervisor and city staff.

Responsibilities include completing work orders, coordinating with contractors, and ensuring safety standards. A valid driver’s license and OSHA10 or higher are required or obtainable within 6 months.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• At least 1 year of labor experience.
• OSHA10 or higher certification or ability to obtain within 6 months.
• Working knowledge of electrical, plumbing, mechanical, and construction.
• Must possess a valid state driver’s license with acceptable driving history.

Responsibilities

• Performs general building maintenance including electrical, plumbing, mechanical, construction and equipment repairs.
• Paints, plasters, and repairs walls/doors; monitors A/C and services as needed.
• Completes work orders in Cartegraph and other software; seeks help when tasks are heavy or complex.
• Assists in managing third party contractor support as needed.
• Operates department vehicles and equipment requiring a driver’s license.
