Job summary

The North Carolina Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS) is seeking a Maintenance/Construction Technician I (S) for Murdoch Developmental Center in Butner, NC. This 24/7 residential facility serves individuals with intellectual/developmental disabilities and requires hands-on facility maintenance skills.

Primary duties include maintaining the plant and infrastructure, assisting with shop procurement, and occasionally supporting 2nd/3rd shift operations.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required or equivalent experience in trades.
• Experience with mechanical or building trades is preferred.
• EPA certification may be required (Type I/II/III or Universal).

Responsibilities

• Maintain operation of the physical plant and facility infrastructure.
• Assist with shop procurement and maintenance repairs as needed.
• Occasionally cover 2nd and 3rd shift operations.
• Support other State agencies with maintenance work when required.
