Job summary

Salt Lake County is seeking a semi-skilled general laborer to support landscaping, construction, maintenance, and repair of facilities, fixtures, and equipment. The role emphasizes safe operation of various equipment, grounds care, and assisting trades personnel.

Applicants must have at least one year of related experience, hold a valid Utah driver’s license at hire, and may need additional certifications or medical cards within six months.

Qualifications

• One year of related experience in delivery, custodial, grounds, or construction maintenance.
• Valid Utah driver’s license at hire and must obtain Utah license within six months of hire.
• Applicants may need a UDOT medical card or CDL within six months of hire.

Responsibilities

• Transport and operate light, medium, and heavy-duty equipment.
• Maintain facility grounds including lawn care, sprinkler systems, and snow removal.
• Maintain and operate facility service vehicles and grounds equipment.
• Prepare routine records and reports; manage work requests and safety records.
• Assist with loading/unloading deliveries and support trades personnel as needed.
