Job summary

Salt Lake County is hiring for a semi‑skilled labor position focusing on landscaping, construction, maintenance, and repair of facilities and equipment. The role supports a range of grounds and custodial tasks, requiring the ability to operate various tools and vehicles and to work in a team environment.

The successful candidate will perform routine records and safety documentation, comply with background checks, and adapt to varying schedules including holidays and after‑hours work.

Qualifications

• One year of closely related experience in delivery, custodial, grounds, or construction maintenance.
• Valid Utah Driver’s License required at hire; must obtain Utah license within six months to operate county vehicle.
• UDOT Medical Card and/or CDL may be required within six months.
• Must pass mandatory drug test and be subject to random testing.

Responsibilities

• Transports and operates light, medium, and heavy‑duty equipment.
• Maintains facility grounds: mowing, weeding, watering, fertilizing, and snow removal.
• Operates and maintains custodial and grounds equipment.
• Keeps records of work requests and maintenance activities.
• Assists with loading/unloading deliveries and helps trade personnel with tasks.
• Performs safety checks and reports facility issues.
