Job summary

City of Lynnwood is seeking a Facilities Worker I to join the Public Works team. The role performs maintenance and repair work around City buildings under varying supervision, including mechanical, plumbing, and electrical systems, as well as custodial duties.

Requires 1 year of related experience in building construction or maintenance and a valid Washington State driver’s license with a passing background check.

Qualifications

• General knowledge of building maintenance and repair.
• Ability to read and follow written instructions and communicate status.
• Proficiency with hand and power tools used in facilities maintenance.
• Basic computer skills including Microsoft Office/Outlook.

Responsibilities

• Perform general maintenance, repair, and custodial tasks within City buildings.
• Assist in maintaining mechanical, plumbing, and electrical systems.
• Inspect and repair fixtures and equipment; maintain logs of maintenance and repairs.
• Support operation of pool, spa, and related equipment; assist with HVAC maintenance.
• Assist with repairs and renovations of City facilities as assigned.
