Job summary

City of Longview is seeking a skilled Maintenance Technician to keep city facilities in optimal condition. You will perform routine maintenance, supervise trades, and plan projects to ensure safety and quality.

The role involves HVAC, electrical, and plumbing work, building fixtures installation, and LED upgrades where appropriate. The position requires a high school diploma or GED, two years of maintenance experience, and a valid Texas driver’s license; CJIS background checks are required.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED plus two years of building maintenance and construction experience.
• Valid Texas Driver's License.
• CJIS background check required.
• NCCER certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Maintain, repair, and perform basic maintenance of City facilities and building systems (HVAC, electrical, plumbing).
• Plan maintenance projects and coordinate quotes from tradesmen; supervise work for quality and compliance.
• Construct and install building fixtures and components; replace ballasts and light fixtures and upgrade to LED where applicable.
• Operate and maintain a variety of specialized vehicles, tools, and equipment; perform routine maintenance on tools.
• Complete daily logs, work orders, and receipts; observe safety procedures and report hazards.
