Job summary

City of Lincoln & Lancaster County is seeking a Maintenance Repair Worker I to support the Lincoln Transportation and Utilities team. You will perform varied building and grounds maintenance tasks across city facilities and outdoor areas, contributing to reliable city services.

The role is entry-level, with semi-skilled work in carpentry, masonry, plumbing, and electrical repair. Working hours are 7:30 a.m. – 4:00 p.m., and a valid driver’s license is required for duties across locations.

Qualifications

• Graduation from high school or equivalent.
• Six months of experience in maintenance, repair, and construction activities in relevant crafts.
• Possession of a valid driver’s license is required for operating assigned duties.

Responsibilities

• Perform and assist with a wide range of building maintenance and repair tasks across city buildings, landscaped areas, pedestrian bridges, and more.
• Maintenance and repair across building systems including carpentry, masonry, plumbing, electrical repair as described in the roles.
• Communicate with tenants to identify and troubleshoot maintenance requests and perform custodial duties as needed.
