Job summary

The Montgomery County Intermediate Unit 23 is seeking a Facilities Maintenance Technician to service mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems and perform general repairs across MCIU facilities. The role requires a high school diploma and 4–6 years in the trades, plus a valid PA driver’s license and the ability to read blueprints.

You will work with a team to maintain building components, respond to emergencies, and ensure safe, functional learning environments.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• 4–6 years of experience in trades and building maintenance.
• Ability to read blueprints, specifications, etc. using trade knowledge.
• Ability to work in a team, communicate effectively, and handle stress.

Responsibilities

• Maintain mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and HVAC systems and related building components.
• Perform repairs to buildings and contents, including carpentry, plumbing, electrical work.
• Inspect and maintain equipment, safety standards, and preventative maintenance.
