Job summary

The Montgomery County Intermediate Unit #23 is seeking a Facilities Maintenance Technician to work with the Office of Facilities and Operations. The role focuses on maintaining mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems, plus general repairs to buildings and contents using carpentry skills.

Ideal candidates have 4–6 years in trades, a High School Diploma or equivalent, and a PA driver's license. Strong teamwork and ability to work under stress are essential for meeting deadlines and safety

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• 4-6 years of experience in the trades and building maintenance.
• Valid PA driver's license required; able to operate district vehicles.
• Ability to read blueprints and specifications using trade knowledge.
• Ability to work in a team and communicate effectively under stress or deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Perform maintenance and repairs on mechanical, electrical and plumbing systems.
• Repair carpentry, drywall, doors, floors and related building components.
• Inspect buildings and equipment to ensure safe operation and maintenance.
